A 12-years-old boy from Pyatigorsk ran away from home and spent the whole weekend in the company of friends and call girls, for whose service he paid with the money stolen from a grocery store.
From LifeNews.ru:
The runaway 12 years old Artyom Z., despite his young age, chose not a children’s lifestyle.
In order to taste the pleasures of adult life, he left his native Georgievsk for a nearby town of Pyatigorsk.
To make his plan work, the boy stole money from several stores and unsuspecting passers-by.
- I took a bus and went to Pyatigorsk, I just wanted to have some fun with girls – told Artyom. – I needed money. So I entered “Magnit” [ed: grocery store], and when the cashier was talking with a customer, I pulled out a stack of bills and fled. They did not catch me.
Thinking that 40,000 rubles is not enough for a gentleman, Artyom pick pocketed from passers-by, who did not suspect that the small teenager was an experienced thief.
- Once I got some money, I went back to Georgievsk. I could afford a taxi and had a good ride, – recalls his adventures Artyom. – In Georgievsk I called my friends and said that I’ve got money and we can have fun. We called the escort girls and went with them to sauna.
After that the merry company continued their fun in hotel, where they had spent 2 days. In total, according to the teenager, for the entertainment program for himself and his friends he had spent about 150 thousand rubles [ed: about 5,000 USD].
At the same time Artyom’s brother, with whom he lived in Georgievsk informed police about the boy’s disappearance.
- Our employees saw the boy in the street, and since his brother was looking for him, we took him to the police station, – says Vladislav Samoilenko, inspector in the city’s juvenile department. – Eventually, the court decided to send Artyom to a special school in Gornozavodsk.
As it became known to journalists, the teenager’s mother gave up her parental rights few years ago. She lives in another town and only occasionally calls her son.
Meanwhile, Artyom will have to spend 3 years in the special school in his bid for the rehabilitation.

Sad! But such things happen everywhere, including here in the States!
They seem to be getting younger every day. When I was 12, I would have spent that money on video games. I do think, however, that 3 years is a bit extreme. I get the impression that it isn’t strictly due to this crime, theft is very common in Russia, especially for sums around $5k.
I really hope that during his time there that they 1) do some kind of rehabilitation instead of just schooling, and 2) that they give him some sort of outlet. You can’t take a kid like that, throw him in a “school of the closed kind”, and not give him something productive to do. Otherwise, he’ll just wither and wait. Then when he’s “free”, he’ll just go apeshit, twice as bad.
He stole some money, and got some hookers. While I’m not condoning or excusing his behaviour (I feel 3 years is a good amount of time), it doesn’t mean he’s an evil deviant who has no future. He just needs a better way to utilize his talents, and get control of his demons.
If only those serial killers, rapists, pedophiles could be punished equally as the 12 y.o kid, Russia would be a safer country.
One mistake breaking all life.
I am sure he doesn’t know what it means 3 years in the scecial school
