There are many ways in which Apple-haters criticize and ridicule the company. But have you met anyone who would accuse Apple of spreading the sin?
Well… according to Interfax.ru, some Orthodox Christians in Russia think so.
No, they don’t refuse to buy iPhone (the temptation is too strong). They simply remove the logo of apple and change it with the holy cross.
Translated from Interfax.ru:
Some believers in Russia dismantle the logo of “Apple” from the purchased products for religious reasons.
Portal “Interfax-Religion” became aware of several cases in which the Orthodox, including priests, changed the “bitten apple” with the image of cross.
According to them, bitten apple is the symbol of original sin described in the Bible and therefore is anti-Christian. Meanwhile, the cross in Christianity symbolizes victory over death, the Savior and redemption of the original sin committed by Adam and Eve.

eine_zwecke: They change – so what? They do it on their own devices? I mean, they don’t suddenly come to your house to change somethingну меняют и меняют – какие проблемы? они же на своих устройствах дома это меняют? я понимаю, если б они вдруг конкретно к Вам домой пришли что-нибудь поменять
roanpiper: It should be noted that in the Old Testament the fruit is not specified. But we know that apple is the ancient pagan symbol. So, we have another example of the substitution of Christianity with some new paganism.Надо заметить ,что плод в Ветхом Завете не конкретизирован. Зато известно, что яблоко – древнейший языческий символ. Так что, имеем очередной пример вытеснения христианства новым язычеством.
