Medvedev in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Some time ago RedHotRussia published the post summarizing the opinions of Russian netizens on the presidency of Dmitry Medvedev. Now Medvedev is functioning as Russia’s Prime Minister and people talk about him less.
But today he was back to the tops of Russian blogosphere. It happened due to one photograph showing Dmitry Medvedev on his visit to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The picture was posted by teh_nomad (one of the most popular Russian bloggers) in his blog and got over 500 comments.
This is how he described the photo.
In one photograph is the essence of [our] authorities. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signs autographs for school children during a visit to the residential neighborhood in the development area of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Comments of Russian netizens
And below are replies of teh_nomad’s readers and their own commentary of the picture. So, what did they see and what did they think?
makuznetsoff: It’s a pity that nobody spat at him or threw a lump of dirt.жаль ни кто в него не плюнул и не кинул комок грязи
bronfenb: And what is the essence of authorities?И в чем суть власти?
[Note: In 2010, Medvedev became the first Russian citizen to own an iPhone 4, which he received as a personal gift from Steve Jobs. Medvedev's well publicized enthusiasm for the device has led to the nickname iPhonchik (a diminutive for “iPhone”) to stick to him.]
maxus389: Kids in the cage.Детки в клетке
jon_tm:
[Note: Medved is the nickname of Medvedev, which on one hand has the same root as his nickname and on another hand is translated as "bear"]
