On his way to Camp David, the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev created an account in Instagram. One of the first images he shared with the followers was the photograph of his pet cat Dorofei.
I’ts curious to note that in the tweet accompanying the picture, Medvedev used the “wrong” word for cat (котэ instead of кот) – demonstrating his familiarity with Russian internet slang. It is hardly surprising, though, taking in account Medvedev’s well-known love for internet and Apple gadgets.
Understandably, this “tweet” became one of the top trends in RuNet (Russian internet). Below you can find the selection of comments and reactions of Russian netizens.
Russian netizens on Dorofei
Oleg Vnukov: Wow! Dmitry Anatolyevich knows such words like “котэ”.
Nosikov Andrey: Medvedev simply can’t be a bad person. Can a bad person have such fucking awesome cat?
Andrey VolAnd: The midget absolutely doesn’t want to work. He is posting the pictures of cats.
Andrey Ikonnicov: Let’s create the fan club of cat Dorofei!
Bogma Sergey: I wonder if Medvedev’s cat is a good friend of Putin’s dog? Do they also all day long drink beer together?
Saninstruktor: He is kinda experienced internet user – can’t afford writing “кот” instead of “котэ”.
Sergey: Oil is below 100$ and he is posting the pictures of cats.
Milena Mitina: From now – no need to be ashamed. Even Prime Minister posts the pictures of cats.
Alex Riefenstahl: Next will be the pictures of boobs on Fridays.
stimorit: Can someone already take away his camera?
koyos koy: That is not a country, that is circus! The senior midget is defending the sadist Assad, while the junior is amusing himself with a cat… And all that on the background of the collapse of Ruble. The fate of Russia is sealed…
Denis Yarkin: The cat is cute – albeit castrated. Just like his owner.
