Translated from Newsland:
[Ambulance] doctors who tried to save the life of a seriously injured man had to wait for the passage of the motorcade of Duma Speaker. The patient died.
Footage, made by the video registrator on one of the cars, has caused a serious scandal in the Leningrad Oblast. Local drivers require to conduct a full investigation into the incident which occurred in April 2012 near the town of Vsevolzhsk.
Judging from the video, traffic police blocked the road for the passage of official’s motorcade. According to the Head of the Traffic Police Department of Vsevolzhsk District, Igor Galkin, the vehicle accompanied by several patrol cars was carrying the speaker of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin.
“The traffic was blocked for five minutes. Among the vehicles caught in the jam was ambulance” – says Galkin.
At this time the doctors of ambulance were fighting for the life of a man who received serious injuries after falling from the fourth floor.
- The man was doing repairs. He slipped from the window sill, – told the doctors.
As a result, he fell down from the fourth floor. He sustained serious injuries. Emergency team was doing everything possible to keep the patient alive.
The ambulance car had to wait at the crossroads with the switched emergency flash lights. Only after one minute it continued driving.
- Maybe the policemen didn’t realize that we had a patient in urgent need for intensive care. Eventually, he died right on the threshold of the hospital, – said the representative of the medical staff.
It’s worth noting that in the video one can clearly hear the physicians shouting at cops: “We have a dying patient in the car! Let us go. “
As for Sergey Naryskin – on that day he had the scheduled meeting in the Southern District of Vsevolzhsk.
Video of the incident
0:35 - traffic police blocks the road.
1:54 – alarm of the ambulance can be heard.
2:52 – ambulance is allowed to proceed.
In the second half of the video driver of the car in which the camera was installed is arguing with the cops about the incident, and threatens that he will take the case to the court.
