Pictures of kittens is the must ingredient for many popular Russian blogs. Naked chicks also work fairly well…

Foreword (before sharing the secret)
Recently I shared one post on Reddit and received the following comment:
“This blog looks like Anti-Russian propaganda, using every little story to shit on Russia and show Russia in a bad light, not that anything is really needed to show Russia in a bad light other than Russia, but this seems a little bit of an over-kill.“
To this I replied:
“This blog is reporting what is hot and viral in Russian blogs and forums. Your impression regarding the Anti-Russian propaganda possibly derives from the fact that “Anti-Russian” stories are most popular among Russians themselves??“
Of course, I might collect the statistics showing how many posts topping the charts of Russian blogosphere are “anti-Russian”.
Instead I will keep the format of this blog and simply translate one humorous post which perfectly illustrates the point. By the way, it garnered more than 500 comments and according to the tradition some of them are translated below.
Typical popular Russian blog
Post One
I was in a traffic jam for three hours and this is what I thought to myself: everything is so dirty in this filthy country!
The herd of commentators: Aptly noticed! One can’t say better! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Post Two
I re-read my post from yesterday ten times. I was contemplating. We are not just filthy, but (and I am not afraid to use this word) very filthy nation.
The herd of commentators: You rock! So true! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Post Three
I talked with some knowledgeable people who know something we don’t know. They say that things are actually much worse!
The herd of commentators: Gee! Thanks for the warning! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Post Four
Photos, kittens.
The herd of commentators: Kittens! Awesome! Fucking awesome! Kittens!
Post Five
Today this country became even more crappy.
The herd of commentators: Yes! Yesterday we stood it, but not today! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Post Six
It’s time to get out of this fucking country!
The herd of commentators: Get out! Exactly! Get out and as often as possible! Get out everyday! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Post Seven
Everyone tries to hush that our country is shit! Only we know it.
The herd of commentators: Of course, all but us are stupid! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Post Eight
Photos, kittens.
The herd of commentators: Kittens! Awesome! Fucking awesome! Kittens! That’s not a country, that is a crap!
Comments of Russian netizens
As for the comments below, these are not the ones left by the herd of commentators, but by commenters of the translated post itself ;-)
agaspher: That’s not a country, that is a crap!Не страна, а обосраться просто!
i_cherski (this is comment by one very popular Russian blogger): That’s exactly me. Only instead of kittens – the pictures of girls. )Ну прям про меня. Только вместо котят фотки девушек. )
Blogger – “A”, Commenters – “O!” “Yes!” “Yo!” “First!” Blogger – “Beh, bitch!”, Commenters – “Wow, yo!” “Really?” “I am shocked!” “Who’s here?” … and so on…

The necessary caveat is, of course, that you are describing dirty liberal blogs. :)
The fact is that this kind of blogs constantly top the charts of LiveJournal.ru (the favorite blogging platform in Russia).
The notable exception is the blog of FritzMorgen which one day I hope to feature her too :)
