If anyone needed the explanation why people in Russia and Ukraine are so unhappy with the local postal service, it would be enough to point to the shameful incident which happened few days ago in Ukraine.
Here is the short post from the Ukrainian forum of online shoppers:
My friend Natasha who is in the 7th month of pregnancy wrote:
Dear friends!
Today, my world turned upside down. Get acquainted with the employee of UkrPochta [ed: Ukrainian Post] in the sweater for males, size M, from ASOS. The very same sweater which I ordered about one month ago, but it never arrived!
Today I went there to inquire about the parcel and simply could not take my eyes off the woman.
This picture spread like fire in Russian and Ukrainian internet boards, giving birth to the following photo shopped image.
Ukrainian postal service launches investigation
Ukrainian postal service reacted to this incident on their official Facebook page:
“Internal investigation was launched based on the information from social networks about the possible theft in one of the office departments.
The investigation is carried under the personal supervision of the management.
The results of the investigation will be made public not later than October 23, 2012.
If the theft is confirmed, the necessary sanctions against the employee will be taken and the injured party will get the compensation for the material and moral damages.
Ukrainian Post also asks the claimant to contact the administration of UkrPochta in order to resolve the issue.“
The investigation didn’t take so long and the same day another Facebook status informed that the employee in question was fired.
Reactions of Ukrainian and Russian netizens
Let’s see how the Russian-speaking community reacted to this incident.
imbler: Behind her is the towel which someone also didn’t get.а сзади полотенце, тоже кто-то не дождался.
freezel (replying to the above): Because of such people Ukraine (and Russia also) is considered cloak of the 3-rd world and the traders from civilized countries refuse to send us the goods!Из-за таких людей Украина (как и Россия впрочем) считается клоакой 3-го мира и торговцы цивилизованных стран отказываются высылать товар нам!
le_lesya: I guess she has iPhone and other apples.айфончик у нее небось и прочие яблоки.

What a shame!
Anyhow, she did a “favor” to the receiver. Otherwise, she wouldn’t never know where the parcel was.
Wow. That’s insane. Nothing like being caught red handed….
I would say – “Nothing like being caught wearing an ugly sweater” :)
HAHA … that is so typical. The stupidity of Ukraine’s criminal underground is only matched by the size of their enormous balls. When living there I learned NEVER to deal with Ukraine’s postal service and only sent packages DHL of FedEx. I would rather pay double, but know my package would arrive.
I would send to myself 100 boxes with items infected with Leprosy.
That would be funny.
Imagine my surprise when a Russian official was caught stealing. What next, the pope will tell us he is catholic?
He is?? Holy shit!
