Driver dragged a dog behind the car for 2 kilometers

Incomprehensible picture was unfolding on June 19 before the eyes of Berdyuzhe village residents (Tyumen region).

A hungry stray dog grabbed the goose and tried to flee the farm of Veremchuk family. 36-year-old Oleg, hearing the cries of his mother, ran out of the house. The furious man caught the dog by her tail and was bit in hand.

- We have tied the dog to the bumper – told Nina Veremchuk to Life News. – The son drove, and I was in the car. We took the dog to the church where she lived. There we would untie her, and apparently she was well and alive: just couldn’t get off the ground because her legs were too tired!

The witnesses immediately handed the video of this act to the prosecutor’s office demanding the punishment of  the fiends.

- This is an offense falling under the Criminal Code article “Cruel treatment of animals” – says the Berdyuzhe district attorney Sergei Shevtsov. – The [video-]materials will be handed over to the police. 

Now the dog Linda, who lives in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, is in bad condition. Employees of the church every day call vet for their pet who gets injections and wound treatment.

- Her skin is torn off, and she just recently whelped! – says Tatiana Stelmach. – Linda is very intelligent, affectionate dog, she was always tied, but this time somehow ran away and fell into the hands of these sadists.

Veremchuks pleaded not guilty.

- And why should we feel sorry for this mongrel? – Nina Veremchuk is confused. – I am sorry for my geese, they are each worth 200 rubles! [ed: about 6 USD]
