Freezing truck driver

The freezing driver waited for 4 days in the truck before being rescued by the police workers

Remember the character of Rene Zellweger from “New in Town” who got in trouble on the snowy highway and had to spend few hours in the car before being rescued?

Something similar happened to a Russian truck driver who found himself stuck on a remote Siberian road. Only in his situation the red underwear would hardly help and he had to wait for four days before being located by the local police patrol.

From Rusdtp.ru:

On October 24, the inter-municipal department of the Krasnoyrask Krai received a report from the Kostroma company that their truck driver hadn’t communicated with them for a week and was possibly lost in taiga.

Since the temperatures in Boguchan district dropped to 20 degrees below zero, there was a real risk that the man was in real trouble.

To clarify the circumstances the police patrol followed the route of the truck. In order to establish the location of the missing truck cops inspected the road and talked to other drivers.

Finally they found the truck on the remote taiga road, 27 kilometers from the village Boguchany. The truck’s tires were burst and its cabin window was covered with frost.

When the police officers cleared the glass, they saw in the cab the driver covered with rags and sleeping bag. He was in critical condition and was able only to say his surname. The traffic inspectors immediately called ambulance.

As it turned out, the driver came to Siberia from the Kostroma region for lumber. After loading the timber, he started his trip back. However, he did not take into account the harsh Siberian weather.

Few times he unsuccessfully tried to leave the taiga, but the summer tires could not bear the load and burst. To keep himself warm, the man heated the car until running out of the fuel.

When the frost hit, the driver wrapped himself in all rags he found in the car, trying to beat the cold. With him he had a supply of food, which allowed him to hold out.

The story had the happy ending. Now the driver’s physical condition is satisfactory.

SENSATION! Police carried out their duty.

Shamanishe:  Hmm… sitting now in the soft couch covered with blanket, drinking tea and thinking… what a f**king difficult job the truckers have.

Maple:  For a week was on highway and nobody helped with anything besides vodka? o-O can’t understand…

agnija07:  His management had to think before sending the driver to Siberia with summer tires. Make them pay a fine of couple millions (rubles) in his favor. Then we will not have such “sensations” in the future.

Willie:  He had to make fire. Thankfully, the car was full of timber. One shouldn’t sleep in such frost.

AlexZ:  Very calm bosses work in that company… Car with the driver disappeared for a week and they just woke up.

NCM:  That’s the harsh life of truckers. There is usually nothing to carry from that Siberia – so he took the cheap timber which is almost always taken with overload.

The driver himself is stupid! He was lucky not to freeze to death.

JNS:  The story seems implausible, and the man does not inspire much confidence. Whoever traveled in the North, knows that different situations with cars is a common occurrence.

On such roads people always help each other. Broke? Flew off the road? Unloaded? Stop anyone and ask for help.

Someone asked you to stop? Brake and help, you don’t know where you might stuck yourself. That’s North! And what is here? The fuel is over and he lifted his paws?

He possibly carried vodka and boozed all the way. It’s just written on his face.
