World boxing champion Vitali Klitschko [in the bottom left] didn’t find worthy opponents during the last fight in Ukrainian parliament
Vitali Klitschko is not just the reigning WBC heavyweight champion. He is also the leader of the Ukrainian political party UDAR (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform) whose name can be also translated as punch.
During his electoral campaign one commentator joked: “They [voters] expect from him actions. If Klitschko comes to Rada, the fights in parliament will be more attractive and more professional.“
It wasn’t just a joke, however. The Ukrainian parliament, or Rada, has a long-standing ill fame for being the stage of fights between its members. Here is just one example from the past…
Vitali Klitschko refrains from fighting in Rada
The first two days of the 7th session of Ukrainian parliament (Dec, 12 and Dec. 13) were marked by massive brawls between the deputies from different parties.
Unfortunately for the spectators the leader of the 3rd biggest party “UDAR” Vitali Klitschko didn’t take the chance to demonstrate his professional skills.
Klitschko is not a newbie in the Ukrainian politics.
In 2006 he was a runner-up in the mayoral elections in Ukrainian capital, Kiev. Also, in 2006 and in 2008 he was elected as the people’s deputy to the Kiev City Council.
During his political career the boxing champion already had tasted some off-the-ring fights. Here is the episode from September 2009.

Shame on those politicians!
Klitschko, yes, he is the champion.
It doesn’t mean that he likes to join any fights.
Why would he do that? Better to watch.
They were arguing about whether Ukraine is weak or Ukraine is strong.
It shows that Ukraine is not really a country. Time for Russia to take it over!!
Russians have Nikolai Valuev in Duma. They might have a good fight!
Pretty hilarious to see politicians acting like that. Definitely a shame all the way around. And very comical when you add in the boxing champ looking on. You really couldn’t have photoshopped a better expression from him.
