Drowning car – part I
[Note: scroll down to see the second (and more tragic) part of this video]
0:03 (someone shouts from the bank): Let’s drag it by the bumper.
0:04 (from the bank): Don’t open the doors.
0:18: (from the bank): Guys! Get out through the window while the car still hasn’t sunk.
0:21 (from the car): What??
0:22 (from the bank): Get out through the window, fuck ya! Through the window!
0:32 (woman’s voice from the bank): You could save…
Yesterday at 16:20 a 54-year-old woman drowned in the irrigation canal in Balakovo, Saratov Oblast.
Few men and woman (owner of the car) had a picnic on the shore. The car “VAZ-2105″ was parked without using the parking brake. As a result, when they decided to drive back and sat in the car, it began to slide into the canal.
But they were very drunk and sat in the car without doing anything until it was in the middle of the river.
First, the passenger from the back seat got out (leaving behind his girl-friend). Then, after the car went under water, the driver and passenger from the front seat succeeded to escape.
The woman in the back seat, however, drowned since she could not swim.
Drowning car – part II
0:19 (woman from the bank asks): Is there anyone else?
0:20 (the guy who escaped, answers in a casual tone): Oh no, everyone is dead already.
0:30 (one woman asks another): Was there anyone else sitting?
0:31 (the second woman answers): Yes, on the front [seat], behind the wheel.
0:40 (voice of woman): [They] were drunk.
0:54 (voice of woman): There was someone sitting in the back [seat].
0:56 (another woman answers): Yes.
1:01 (voices): Here floats… Another one…
1:05 (women): Swim… alive…
1:06 (voice of guy): One more [woman].
1:08 (woman): Ah, there was a girl.
1:22 (man from the bank): Dive to help the woman till it’s late.
1:25 (someone comes up): What happened?
1:26 (woman answers): A car sank.
1:32 (after the woman’s body floats up, the guy in water says): That’s it.
1:35 (someone from the bank shouts): Help her, help her! Turn her on the back!
1:40 (again): Turn [her] on the back.
1:46 (man from the bank): Drag, drag the woman so that she doesn’t suffocate.
1:59 (women discuss): Four men and woman.
2:04 (man in the water): Drag her, fuck!
2:08 (woman): They push her and she again goes under water.
2:28 (woman): Someone should call the ambulance.
2:30 (man holding the woman’s body): Oooh, she is blue already.
Comments of Russian netizens.
moorhun: Why saving? Shooting on the phone is more important!
sdwig_openit: They were sinking for at least 30 seconds…
drvi1: Break the windows or do something else, but don’t stand there to make the video.
_rf_ (replying to drvi1): In any society not more than 1 percent are ready for such deeds.
There was an Armenian swimmer, who was jogging every morning around the lake. He witnessed the trolleybus falling into water. He jumped into the water and alone rescued many people. But he got injured and later couldn’t participate in professional sport.
[Note: Commenter refers to the case of the Armenian fin-swimmer Shavarsh Karapetyan, who saved 20 people]
losyara1975: In such situations the only way is to roll down the windows and get out. It is impossible to open the doors.
pharao (replying to losyara1975): If the windows are electricity-driven – then they might stop working in water.
vol631 (also replying to losyara1975): Need to understand one thing – in order to open the door, one must pull the handle and not break it! With the shoulder put pressure against the door and push, push, push – but only when the interior is already full of water! Usually people in panic break off the handles.
ximera: Fucking men… got out themselves and swam away leaving the woman. …. Ugh, fuck. That’s Russia.
viklamist (replying to ximera): Maybe she was the same shit as you. So they decided – ‘ah, well, what the fuck saving her – she only blabs all the time’.
kirzer: Natural selection. Sitting in the car with drunk leads to such logical outcome. It’s just a pity that they escaped – now they can kill someone else next time.
abomberz: Probably very few people wanted to do CPR to a drunken.
lesnoybrodyaga: They sit and wait until they start to sink.
pharao (replying to lesnoybrodyaga): There will never be shortage of candidates for Darwin Awards.
resononsense: From the way this driver-shmiver bravely steers, while half in water – it seems that the guys were absolutely bombed. Still it’s very sad to watch it and see how people pointlessly lose their lives…
trzp (replying to resononsense): It’s their choice! Let’s respect it.
_brenner_: I also wouldn’t go to save them. I am a crappy swimmer. Sorry, but I really don’t swim well. If I swam there, for example, there would be two bodies instead of one.
And as for the ‘bodies’ in the car – they could somehow more vigorously fight for their lives.
tank76: And someone from the ground shouts – “Don’t open the door so that it doesn’t flow into the cabin.” Why? Did they want to save the car? Wanted to sell it?
morbid_dezir: If you open the door - water will quickly flow into the cabin and overturn it. At this moment remnants of the air under pressure kick in your face (because you still try to grab it with your mouth). Silt and shit rise from the bottom – and you, almost deaf and blind, can hardly navigate under water. Good prospects, huh?
In short, do not touch the door until the cabin is at least half full with water.
